The categories are :

What is the age limit for various categories

General - 25 years as on 1st April 2011.
2. OBC - age relaxation of 3 years.
3. SC - age relaxation of 5 years.
4. ST - age relaxation of 5 years.
5. PWD - age relaxation of 5 years.
6. Ex-Serviceman - as per Government norms.
7. KM - age relaxation of 5 years.
8. PWD & OBC - age relaxation of 8 years.
9. PWD & SC/ST - age relaxation of 10 years.
10. KM & OBC - age relaxation of 8 years.
11. KM & SC/ST - age relaxation of 10 years.

What are the cutoff points for various categories?

General - First class in Engineering degree (relevant discipline)
2. OBC - First class in Engineering degree (relevant discipline)
3. SC - Pass class in Engineering degree (relevant discipline)
4. ST - Pass class in Engineering degree (relevant discipline)
5. PWD - Pass class in Engineering degree (relevant discipline)

Do I need to send a DD?
1. General - Yes - for Rs.500/-
2. OBC - Yes - for Rs.500/-
3. SC - Yes - for Rs.200/-
4. ST - Yes - for Rs.200/-
5. PWD - Yes - for Rs.200/-

Do I need to have the Demand Draft ready before filling up the application form?

Yes. You will need to provide certain details from the DD at the time of online submission of application form.

What is the amount for the DD to be sent?

The amount for the DD is Rs.500/- for GEN/OBC candidates and Rs.200/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

In whose favour should the DD be made?

The DD should be in favour of "Bharat Electronics Limited " drawn preferably on State Bank of India, payable at New Delhi.

Where the DD should be payable at?

The DD should be payable at New Delhi.

To which address should I send the DD?

Which are the documents to be sent at Post Box No: 4334, Kalkaji Head Post Office, New Delhi-110019 ?

1. Print out of the filled online application form having auto generated Regisration Number with phtograph affixed and duly signed.

2. Demand Draft duly endorsed with your name and online Application No. on the reverse.

Documents to be sent through ordinary post only.

Do not send any other supporting documents.

What is an auto generated Application Number?

An auto generated Application Number is a unique number allotted to you on successful submission of online application form and will appear on print version of the application form. This Number will be required for accessing, downloading and printing the written test call letter that will be placed on the BEL website on 10.06.2011 at 1400 hours.

Before which date should I send the DD?

The DD must be sent to the above mentioned address on or before 16.05.2011.

What is the procedure for claiming TA by SC / ST & PWD candidates?

Candidates belonging to SC / ST & PWD category are required to download the TA Claim Format which is placed on the website, fill-in the required information and attach the tickets for onward journey and a copy of the ticket for return journey along with the copy of the caste certificate. The same must be handed over to the invigilator at the time of written test. Candidates, who do not follow the above procedure, will not be eligible for receipt of TA.

The Discipline in which I have specialized in Engineering is not appearing in the drop down list. Am i eligible to apply?

Candidates who have specialized in disciplines like Electronics & Electrical, Electronics & Instrumentation & Control, Information Technology, Information Science, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial & Production Engineering etc. in Engineering / Technology are NOT eligible to apply for the post . Candidates are required to carefully select the option of degree/qualification specified in the drop down only.

I have entered some incorrect details in the Online Application Form, How can I correct the same?

Candidates are requested to take utmost care while filling in the details in online application form. There is no provision for correcting the details entered in the online application form once the same is submitted.
